AudioFile magazine has revealed the three winners of its annual Golden Voices honors, which celebrate “a voice artist’s iconic role in the field of narration” and recognize “those who have made significant contributions to the audiobook art form.”

Vikas Adam, who has been nominated for 16 Audie Awards, was named one of the honorees. He has lent his voice to audiobooks including Yann Martel’s Life of Pi, Harlan Coben’s Nobody’s Fool, and Grant Morrison’s Luda. He is also co-narrating the forthcoming audiobook version of Heart Lamp, written by Banu Mushtaq and translated by Deepa Bhasthi; last month, the book won the International Booker Prize.

Kimberly Farr was another narrator to win the honor. Her audiobooks include Elizabeth Strout’s Olive Kitteridge and My Name Is Lucy Barton; Anne Tyler’s Clock Dance and A Spool of Blue Thread; and Joan Didion’s Blue Nights.

Also receiving the honor was Hillary Huber, who has narrated audiobook versions of Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels series, translated by Ann Goldstein; Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner; and The Summer Guests by Tess Gerritsen.

“The Golden Voice class of 2025 will delight ears because, of course, an audiobook by a Golden Voice narrator assures exceptional listening,” said Robin Whitten, editor and founder of AudioFile. “Our three 2025 Golden Voice narrators have excellent performance skills, are skillfully attuned to their authors, and set the highest narration standard in diverse genres and styles.”

Previous Golden Voice honorees include Julia Whelan, Dion Graham, and Miriam Margolyes.
