Hairstylist Chris Appleton will share advice and life lessons in a book coming in 2026, People magazine reports.
Hanover Square will publish Your Roots Don't Define You in the winter. It calls the book an “invitation to take a seat in Chris’s chair and experience the inside-out transformation that you didn’t know you needed.”
Appleton worked as a hairstylist from a young age and became a celebrity in his own right after working with stars including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian, as well as corporate clients such as Chanel, Burberry, and Dolce & Gabbana. He has 4 million followers on Instagram and more than 3.1 million on TikTok, where he frequently showcases his work.
“After years of working with the most badass women on the planet, he’s seen firsthand how transformation is possible at any stage of life, even when society tells you that you’re ‘too old,’ when it feels like the whole world is closing in on you, or when the person you thought you’d spend your life with is now your ex,” Hanover Square says. “You don’t have to feel limited by your roots. The comeback you want can be yours.”
Appleton shared news of the book on Instagram, writing, “For years, I hid behind an image—playing it safe, playing it straight, trying to be what everyone else expected. But behind closed doors, I was crumbling under the pressure of pretending to be someone I wasn’t. This is the story of how I cut away the shame, reclaimed my truth, and rebuilt myself from the inside out.”
Your Roots Don’t Define You is scheduled for publication on January 20, 2026.
