The Texas Book Festival has unveiled the lineup for the annual event, with more than 300 authors scheduled to appear at the literary celebration in Austin in early November.
Actor and Austin resident Matthew McConaughey will appear at the festival to discuss his latest book, Poems & Prayers, which Crown is set to publish next week. McConaughey is the author of two previous books, the nonfiction collection Greenlights and the children’s book Just Because, illustrated by Renée Kurilla.
Mitch Albom, author of the forthcoming novel Twice, will be a guest at the festival, as will Chelsea Handler (I’ll Have What She’s Having), Viet Thanh Nguyen (To Save and To Destroy), Imani Perry (Black in Blues), Julia Ioffe (Motherland), and Patricia Lockwood (Will There Ever Be Another You).
Other authors scheduled to appear include Nnedi Okorafor (Death of the Author), Fernando A. Flores (Brother Brontë), Dan Chaon (One of Us), Adam Silvera (The Survivor Wants To Die at the End), Jessica Frances Kane (Fonseca), and Maris Kreizman (I Want To Burn This Place Down).
The Texas Book Festival was founded by former first lady Laura Bush and benefactor Mary Margaret Farabee 30 years ago. It will take place November 8-9 in and around the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin. Admission is free.
